Winter Skincare Routine
The last couple of weeks have been quite challenging for my skin. After having spent a whole month in Hawaii, my skin had quite a hard time getting used to the significantly colder climate back here in Austria. I started to get a lot of dry patches on my cheeks and around my eyes, and even some eye infections because of that. Additionally, being really busy at Uni resulted in me living on a fast food diet which upset my skin even more and I ended up breaking out all over. Thanks to a very carefully selected group of skin care product, things are looking a lot better now and the overall situation has been improving massively. Here is what I use on my face:
The Body Shop Tea Tree Cleanser
This is probably my favourite cleanser ever. It is so gentle, yet removes all of the dirt and old skin from my face. The tee tree oil also helps to reduce any redness and breakouts that might occur. At the moment, I am on my third bottle of this and I am still as impressed by it as I was when I tried it for the first time.
Kiehls Calendula Toner*
I have never really used a toner before, however, since my visit to the Kiehls shop in Innsbruck, I now know how important it is to do so. It prepares your face perfectly for everything else you are going to put on it. This calendula toner is amazing for my oily skin and helps to reduce the shine throughout the day.
NIGHT: Kiehls Midnight Recovery Serum*
I have heard so many good things about the Midnight Recovery Serum so naturally, when I had the chance, I really wanted to try it out for myself. Even after having applied it for the first time, I could already see improvements in my skin the next morning. My skin feels a lot softer and nourished, less dry in certain areas and less oily in others. How that is possible, I don’t know, yet I will definitely continue using it as it is for sure one of the best face products I have tried so far.
Kiehls Avocado Eyetreatment *
Next step is to use this cream under my eyes, which is pretty self-explanatory I think. While I tend to get really oily in my T-zone during the day, my under-eye- and also cheek-areas tend to do the exact opposite during autumn and winter time. To fight those dry and irritated patches, I find the Kiehls Avocado Eyetreatment to be one of the most effective and efficient treatments out there.
Walde Traubenkernöl (= grape-stone oil) moisturizer
Walde is a Tyrolian soap, cosmetics and candle manufacturer, located in Innsbruck. Their products are incredibly clean and, unlike so many others, free of all the annoying, unhealthy and unnecessary chemicals. I have been using this moisturizer for quite some time now and I am hugely impressed by its quality and the effect it has on my skin. It does not break me out whatsoever and always helps to calm my face when I do break out for any other reason.
What does your skincare routine look like at the moment? Are there any products you would highly recommend to try out? I would really love to know!
