Recent Additions to my Makeup Collection
At the beginning of this year, I decided not to spend so much money on makeup anymore. I already have quite a lot and don’t get me wrong, I love shopping for new makeup, but this can get really expensive really fast. And up until recently, I managed to buy almost no new products, except for some things that I needed to replace, because I had either used them up or they had gone bad. So, about a month and a half ago, I decided that the time had come to abandon the spending ban and go out to treat myself with a few new makeup items. Here is what I got:
Revlon Colorstay Makeup for combination and oily skin
After coming back home from Hawaii, I obviously needed a new shade of foundation. I had my eye on this one for quite some time now, so I thought this was the perfect occasion to try it. I picked up the shades 330 natural tan and 240 medium beige, as I figured that soon enough, I would have to start mixing the two as my tan wasn’t going last forever (sadly, that time has come now, by the way). I honestly have to say that I am super impressed with this foundation. I don’t think I have ever come across another one that would last this long on my face without looking greasy and gross. Once I had it on for almost 20 hours and by three o’clock in the morning, it still looked somewhat presentable. I really think I have found my new favourite foundation with this one!
Alverde Magic Effect Rouge and Alverde Rouge Tint & Highlighter in soft peach
I quite like the brand Alverde, since it sells products with mostly natural ingredients with all of them being cruelty free and many of them even vegan. I am obsessed with one of their concealer sticks that I recently bought, however, I wasn’t too impressed with those two products. The blush comes out white at first and then creates a unique shade of pink when applied to the skin. I found it to be a really pretty, yet very sheer colour that almost vanishes after having applied powder afterwards. The highlighter was a little bit more visible and also a gorgeous colour, yet quite hard to blend. However, it could just be my complete incompetence when it comes to using liquid and cream makeup products like contour, blush or highlighter on my face.
Chanel Rouge Allure Ink Matte Liquid Lip Colour in 148 Libéré
This one was a gift from my dad. I hate wearing lipsticks that need to be reapplied every half hour and that vanishes completely once you so much as even think of having something to eat. Which is exactly why I am a huge fan of liquid lipsticks as they tend to last a lot better and longer. This one is no exception. The colour is a gorgeous red that is absolute smear proof and stays on even if you want to devour a burger with extra fries. Also, how luxurious looking is the packaging?
Tarte Gifted Amazonian Clay Mascara
I picked this up during my trip to Hawaii, however, I haven’t opened it yet. I want to use up the mascara I am currently using first, so I don´t waste any product. I have heard great things, though, so I will definitely let you know what I think once I gave it a proper try.
