4 Things I learned about myself in 2017

It can be really hard to admit one’s own faults and flaws. Sometimes, however, we end up being too strict with ourselves. In 2017, I spent a lot of time thinking about my future, where I want myself to be in a certain amount of time and also what I have to change and improve to get there. Here are four things I have known for a long time, yet never truly wanted to admit to myself, that bug me and that I hope to change in the near future:

Winter Skincare Routine

The last couple of weeks have been quite challenging for my skin. After having spent a whole month in Hawaii, my skin had quite a hard time getting used to the significantly colder climate back here in Austria. I started to get a lot of dry patches on my cheeks and around my eyes, and even some eye infections because of that. Additionally, being really busy at Uni resulted in me living on a fast food diet which upset my skin even more and I ended up breaking out all over. Thanks to a very carefully selected group of skin care product, things are looking a lot better now and the overall situation has been improving massively. Here is what I use on my face:

I am moving!

I am so excited for this post today! The time has finally come, where I am moving out from my parent’s house and into my own flat in Innsbruck. It is located in the centre of the town which is so perfect, as I am only five minutes away from Uni and only half an hour away from home. I am going to share this flat with two lovely girls, who have both already been living in said apartment for about two years. I am so grateful for the two of them welcoming me into their home as a new member to the shared flat.

One Month in Hawaii

On August 28, 2017, at 6 o’clock in the morning, I boarded a plane that would take me from Innsbruck to Frankfurt. This was just the beginning of a 27-hour journey to my destination, which was Honolulu, on the island of Oahu and also the capital of Hawaii, USA. Never before, had I been so far away from home. Hawaii, from where I live, is practically the other side of the world and oh my is it a beautiful one. I stayed for a total of four weeks, which means I got to see and do so many incredible things and make so many extraordinary memories I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

But how did I end up this far away from Austria? Why choose Hawaii? And why on earth did I go all by myself?

Tips for First Time Dog Owners

It has been one year, since I got my furry pupper friend Oscar. He is a yellow Labrador retriever, super friendly and smart, but at times also quite stubborn. At the moment, he is going through puberty which means that some days, he will be the biggest troublemaker there is. On others, however, he is just the perfect and cutest good-boy out there.

Over this last year, I learnt a lot about raising a puppy and the early stages of puberty. Maybe, some of you are thinking about getting a dog or already have one and are looking for some tips and tricks to make everyone’s life easier. So here are 5 things I learned along the way. If you find this interesting and want to more, just let me know and I can do more specific posts and updates.

Getting New Piercings

Over the last couple of months, I got four new piercings. Some of them were not painful at all, while others hurt a lot. Some have healed really nicely, and others, well, I’m still working on it. Down below, I wrote about getting all of my four new pieces of jewellery, how painful it was and how they healed. I didn’t go into detail about piercing aftercare, as I will write a separate post about that topic.

My Favourite Eyeshadow Palette

My Favourite Eyeshadow PaletteOne thing that bugs me a lot when it comes to eyeshadow palettes is that no matter how beautiful it might be, there is always this one shade in it that I will never use. It might be too bright, too glittery, or just not pigmented enough. Some little detail is always off. So, if you look at any of my palettes, you will see about two thirds of it having been well loved, and the rest not even touched once. Sometimes, when I think about it, that makes me feel like I am wasting a lot of money, product, etc. Not too long ago, however, I bought yet another eyeshadow palette and I found myself liking and also using every single shade in it. This is a first.
